Unlock additional factory drive modes on your Volkswagen Amarok NF with the Additional Drive Modes Programmer.
Different Amarok models come equipped with different drive modes from factory. The OBD Programmer detects your vehicle's existing configuration and enables the applicable missing factory drive modes, including Sport, Rock Crawl, Mud/Ruts, Sand and Tow/Haul where supported.
Once programmed, the additional drive modes can be accessed and selected directly through your Amarok's infotainment system, integrating with the vehicle just like factory.
Additional Factory Drive Modes
Depending on your Amarok's model and existing factory configuration, the programmer can enable the following modes:
Sport Mode
Designed for more responsive on-road driving, adjusting vehicle systems to provide a more dynamic driving experience.
Rock Crawl Mode
Designed for controlled, low-speed driving over challenging off-road terrain where precise vehicle control and traction are important.
Mud/Ruts Mode
Designed for off-road situations, Mud/Ruts helps maintain vehicle momentum while allowing some wheel slip to assist in clearing mud from the tyre tread.
Sand Mode
Designed for use in sand and deep snow conditions, optimising power delivery, gear shifts and stability control to help maintain vehicle momentum and minimise braking distances.
Tow/Haul Mode
Designed for towing or carrying heavy loads, Tow/Haul Mode optimises gear shift timing to maintain power delivery and provide increased engine braking in hilly terrain. It also increases steering weight for improved control when towing.
Your Amarok Determines What's Added
Not every Amarok requires the same additional drive modes.
The OBD Programmer automatically identifies your Amarok and its existing factory configuration, then enables the applicable missing drive modes supported by your vehicle.
There's no need to select your existing drive modes or manually configure the programmer. Simply plug it in and the programmer determines what your Amarok requires.
Once programming is complete, the additional modes appear within your vehicle's infotainment system, where they can be accessed and selected alongside the existing factory drive modes.
Plug & Play Programming

Turn the ignition ON.

Plug the OBD Programmer into the vehicle's OBD-II port.

The programmer backs up your vehicle's current configuration, identifies the required configuration and begins programming.

Wait for the LED to turn solid green.

Remove the programmer.
During programming, the instrument cluster and infotainment system may restart. This is completely normal. Do not unplug the OBD Programmer or switch the ignition off while programming is in progress.
Factory Roller Shutter Reset
If you have an Amarok Aventura or PanAmericana delivered with a factory roller shutter, you will need to reset the roller shutter after programming.

With the roller shutter fully open, press and hold the button until the roller shutter reaches half open.

Press and hold the button until the roller shutter reaches fully open. Continue pressing the button for at least 4 seconds.

Release the button.

Within 10 seconds of releasing the button, press and hold the button until the roller shutter fully closes. Continue pressing the button for at least 4 seconds.

If the roller shutter does not open when you press the button, repeat the procedure.
Restore Back to Factory Anytime
During the first programming session, the OBD Programmer securely stores the vehicle's original factory configuration, allowing the vehicle to be restored back to its original settings at any time by plugging the programmer back into the same vehicle.
