What is the RA Ranger Stop/Start Eliminator kit?

The RA Ranger Stop/Start Eliminator kit is a harness that allows you to override the auto stop-start function of your engine when stopped at traffic lights. It will automatically turn off this feature when you start the car.

Why would I need a Stop/Start Eliminator kit?

The auto stop-start function can be annoying and disruptive, especially in heavy traffic or when you're driving in stop-and-go conditions. The RA Ranger Stop/Start Eliminator kit allows you to regain control of your vehicle's engine and prevent it from turning off at unwanted times.

Can't I just turn off the auto stop-start feature using the factory switch?

Yes, there is a factory switch to disable the auto stop-start feature, but it's not permanent. The system resets every key cycle, which means you have to turn it off every time you start your vehicle.

Can I just pull the module plug thats connected to the battery?

That’s the battery control module, so the battery monitoring system will be disabled when unplugged. When it detects low voltage it cuts off features like auto stop-start, heated seats, heated rear windows, mirrors, AC, audio, nav, etc. to save the battery.

You’ve tricked it into thinking the battery is always low voltage. Many modules rely on the data from the BMS including the powertrain control module. E.g. the alternator will run constantly regardless of whether the battery is fully charged, so fuel consumption will be increased.

Is the installation of the RA Ranger Stop/Start Eliminator kit difficult?

The installation process for the kit is very straight forward that can be completed with basic tools and minimal technical knowledge. All kits come with a digital instruction with pictures emailed to you.

Can the RA Ranger Stop/Start Eliminator kit be removed?

Yes, the kit can be removed if you decide to sell or trade in your vehicle. However, it's important to keep in mind that the auto stop-start feature will be reactivated if the kit is removed.

Will Remote Start still work with the eliminator? 

The eliminator will not automatically deactivate the stop/start function. This is because the remote start feature disables certain functions that the eliminator relies on to reverse the signal to the switch.
