How do I remote start my vehicle?
Remote starting is simple:

Do I still need the FordPass app?
No. One of the main benefits of the Remote Start Key FOB is that you can remotely start your vehicle directly from the key.
You can still use FordPass if you wish, but you don't need to open the app and wait for the remote-start command to communicate with the vehicle when using the key FOB.
Does the Remote Start Key FOB require an internet connection?
No. The key FOB communicates directly with the vehicle, so remote starting from the key does not rely on your phone's internet connection or the FordPass app.
Do I need to take my vehicle to Ford to program the key?
No. The Remote Start Key FOB can be programmed to your vehicle by the customer.
Programming generally takes less than 5 minutes when the correct procedure is followed.
Do I need my original keys to program the new Remote Start Key FOB?
Yes.
You will need both original key FOBs supplied with your vehicle to complete the programming procedure.
We strongly recommend confirming that you have both original keys before ordering.
What if I only have one original key?
The standard customer programming procedure requires both original vehicle keys.
If you only have one original key, the normal programming process cannot be completed using the standard procedure.
Is the Remote Start Key FOB supplied already programmed?
No. The key needs to be programmed to your individual vehicle after you receive it.
This ensures the key is correctly recognised by your vehicle.
How long does programming take?
Programming normally takes less than 5 minutes.
Once successfully programmed, the new key can be used like your other vehicle keys while also providing the dedicated remote-start function.

Will the air conditioning or heater turn on when I remote start the vehicle?

What range does the Remote Start Key FOB have?
Range can vary depending on your surroundings, interference, buildings and where the vehicle is parked.

Does the boot/tailgate release button work?
The boot release function is supported on vehicles equipped with the appropriate factory functionality.
For Wildtrak and Ranger Raptor models with a factory-fitted roller shutter, the boot release button can operate the factory roller shutter.

I have an aftermarket roller shutter. Will the boot release button operate it?
Not necessarily.
The boot/roller-shutter release functionality is intended for vehicles that were delivered with the factory-fitted roller shutter system.
An aftermarket roller shutter should not be assumed to work with this function.
I have a Wildtrak or Raptor with the factory roller shutter. Which version should I order?
Select the vehicle option that correctly matches your vehicle.
For a Ranger Raptor equipped with the factory roller shutter, select the Raptor with Factory Roller Shutter option.
Selecting the correct variant is important to ensure you receive the appropriate key configuration.
Will the key work if I have the RA Ranger Stop/Start Eliminator installed?
Yes, however there is an important difference when the vehicle is remotely started.
When starting the vehicle normally, the Stop/Start Eliminator can perform its normal function.
When the vehicle is remote started using the key FOB, the Stop/Start Eliminator may not automatically disable the factory stop/start system during that remote-start cycle.
This occurs because remote start temporarily changes the operation of some vehicle systems that the Stop/Start Eliminator uses to perform its function.
Does the key permanently modify my vehicle?
The key is programmed into the vehicle as an authorised key. It does not require you to continually connect a device or use an app each time you want to remote start.
Once programmed, simply use the buttons on the key.
Do I need FORScan to install it?
For the supported NextGen Ranger, Ranger Raptor and Everest applications sold on this listing, the supplied customer programming procedure is designed to allow the key to be programmed without requiring FORScan.
You will, however, need both original vehicle keys.
Does the key have a replaceable battery?
Yes. Like a normal vehicle key FOB, it uses a replaceable key battery.
If the operating range becomes noticeably shorter or the key becomes intermittent over time, the battery should be one of the first things checked.
Will programming this key delete my original keys?
No. The purpose of the programming procedure is to add the Remote Start Key FOB to the vehicle while retaining your existing keys.
Can I program more than one Remote Start Key FOB?
Additional compatible keys may be programmed to the vehicle, subject to the vehicle's key programming limitations and the correct programming procedure.
If you would like multiple Remote Start Key FOBs, each key is sold individually unless otherwise stated.
Can I use the key on another vehicle after programming it?
The key should be purchased and programmed for the intended compatible vehicle.
If you are purchasing for a different vehicle, make sure you select the correct vehicle variant rather than assuming an already-programmed key can simply be transferred.
What happens if the remote start doesn't work?
First check:
- The Remote Start Key FOB has been successfully programmed.
- The vehicle is locked.

- The key FOB battery has sufficient charge.

- The vehicle does not currently have a condition preventing remote start.
